Unpad Gateway

The Unpad Gateway is a support program from the Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) International Office. Its primary function is to offer accommodation assistance to international students participating in various inbound non-degree programs, such as short courses, internships, or short-term academic visits, ranging between one and two months. This program is part of the Equity Program (Enhancing Quality Education for International University Impacts and Recognition) – World Class University at Universitas Padjadjaran, funded by Kemendiktisaintek and LPDP.

  • Social Work Internship and Community-Based Research on Community Empowerment and Child Welfare in Indonesia
    • This initiative is aimed at international students who wish to learn about social services, policy implementation, and participatory community interventions in Indonesia through local NGOs.
  • Evidence-Policy Analysis Capacity Internship in Addressing Climate Change and Climate Justice for a Resilient Future in Rural Indonesia
    • This program combines theoretical sessions, practical policy analysis, field visits, and cross-cultural engagement to develop skills in evidence-based policymaking, advocacy, and collaborative governance, with a focus on South-North dialogue.
  • Industrial Internship Program at Bobobox Indonesia
    • The program connects students to Indonesia’s startup ecosystem, providing 8-10 weeks of hands-on experience and professional skill development at Bobobox, a smart accommodation and hospitality technology startup based in Bandung.

Application Information

  • Application Deadline: The deadline to submit applications is January 30, 2026.
  • General Eligibility and Requirements (Applies to all programs):
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent).
    • Ability to communicate in English and/or Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Required Documents include:
    • Certificate of Enrollment from the home university.
    • Letter of recommendation/official endorsement from the home university’s International Office.
    • Endorsement Letter from the hosting faculty at Unpad.
    • Motivation letter/personal statement (500 words).
    • Latest academic transcript.
    • Description and timeline of the study, internship, or visiting activity (1-2 pages).
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV).
    • Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo) or verification that all courses were conducted in English.
    • Signed Code of Conduct for international students.
    • Scan of the passport biodata page (valid for at least 12 months).

Social Work Internship and Community-Based Research on Community Empowerment and Child Welfare in Indonesia

  • Overview: This is a short-term inbound mobility initiative that combines a social work internship with community-based research on community empowerment and child welfareIt is aimed at international students, especially from ASEAN partner universitieswho want to learn about social services, policy implementation, and participatory community interventions in Indonesia through local NGOs.
  • Duration: Two months.
  • Quota: The program has a quota of 10 international students.
  • Eligibility and Requirements:
    • Undergraduate students (in their final year) or graduate students in social work or related disciplines.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent).
    • Ability to communicate in English and/or Bahasa Indonesia.

Evidence-Policy Analysis Capacity Internship in Addressing Climate Change and Climate Justice for a Resilient Future in Rural Indonesia

  • Overview: This one-month internship and training program offers international students the opportunity to work on climate change and climate justice issues in rural IndonesiaThe program combines theoretical sessions, practical policy analysis, field visits, and cross-cultural engagement to develop skills in evidence-based policymaking, advocacy, and collaborative governanceIt is designed for students from Asia, Australia, and Europe, promoting South-North dialogue.
  • Duration: One month.
  • Quota: The program has a quota of 10 international students.
  • Eligibility and Requirements:
    • Master’s/PhD students or advanced undergraduate students from universities in Asia, Australia, and Europe.
    • Majors should include Public Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, International Development, Political Science, Sociology, or related fields.
    • Ideal candidates have a strong interest in climate change, social justice, and collaborative approaches to development.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent).
    • Ability to communicate in English and/or Bahasa Indonesia.

Industrial Internship Program at Bobobox Indonesia

  • Overview: This two-month program connects students to Indonesia’s startup ecosystem through practical, skill-based learningParticipants will undertake an 8-10 week internship at Boboboxa Bandung-based startup in smart accommodation and hospitality technologyParticipants will gain hands-on experience, cross-cultural exposure, and professional skills in Business, Marketing, Multimedia, IT, and International Business.
  • Duration: Two monthswith the internship period lasting 8–10 weeks.
  • Quota: The program has a quota of 20 international students.
  • Eligibility and Requirements:
    • Minimum second-year undergraduate students or graduate students (Master’s/PhD).
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent).
    • Ability to communicate in English and/or Bahasa Indonesia.
