Positive Thinking is the Key to Increasing Immunity Against Pandemic

The rise of critical information related to the COVID-19 pandemic in vulnerable communities raises excessive anxiety. Stress arising from anxiety during a pandemic will risk reducing body immunity and can also cause symptoms resembling those experienced by COVID-19 patients. In fact, these symptoms are actually a manifestation of anxiety, not due to a viral infection.

At the “Optimistic Talks During the COVID-19 Pandemic Period” event held on Saturday (9/5) by the Directorate of Innovation and Corporations of Universitas Padjadjaran, Dr. Gilang Yubiliana, M.Kes. delivered tips to convert the anxiety into helpful anxiety. First, is to do a relaxation process, assisted through an affirmation method developed by the Unpad hypnosis research team using audio visual media. Second, Gilang offers a way to enhance humoral immunity, which he calls 4S. 4S is a series of exercises involving four components. The exercises for the four components are carried out in parallel.
