[unpad.ac.id, 2/9/2020] Ten students of Universitas Padjadjaran have been awarded the Tahfidz Student Scholarship which is a collaboration between Unpad with Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia (IZI) and PT. Bank Permata Syariah. This program has been symbolically inaugurated by the Secretary of the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni, Drs. Sudarma, MM., online, on Wednesday (2/9).
Sudarma said that the Tahfidz Student Scholarship Program is one of the facilities in upholding Unpad’s commitment to give the best service to students.
Unpad has a commitment to remove any financial burden that could hinder the students’ learning process. Other than improving welfare, this empowerment program is also expected to develop achievements of awardees of the scholarship.
“How can we maintain the achievements of these students and improve them, one way is by improving their welfare from many angles, such as through scholarships,” said Sudarma.
Sudarma also hoped that by improving the students’ welfare and achievements, this program can improve the quality of human resources as a whole.
“This has always been our priority to improve and develop our human resources as a whole,” said Sudarma.
Meanwhile, the Director of Pendayaan Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia, Nana Sudiana, hoped that this program could improve the intellectual and spiritual value of the awardees. In addition to intelligence, it is hoped that students can internalize good morals. The wisdom of leadership can also be internalized.
“Because we hope that they can be leaders in the future, become a part of Indonesia’s future,” Nana said.
In this opportunity, Vice Head of the Zakat Collecting Unit of PT. Bank Permata Syariah, Feddy Fadillah, explained that this program does not only provide scholarship but also provides tutoring and other facilities. Awardees are also encouraged to deliver vast benefits to surrounding communities.
Feddy also hoped that this program could benefit the students so that they can focus on studying and worship. It is hoped that students can carry out their studies optimally.
