Since 2010, a number of 100 students have enrolled at Guizhou University\u00a0under Confucius Institute Scholarships.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study Students: This category provides a\u00a0sponsorship for 11 months. Application is open to Confucius Institute (Classroom)\u00a0students, overseas Chinese language teachers, Chinese language major students and\u00a0excellent performers in HSK test. International students who are now studying in China\u00a0are not eligible for the scholarship. Applicant should have a minimum score of 180 in HSK\u00a0Test (Level 3), and 60 in HSKK test (Beginner Level), or have a minimum score of 180 in\u00a0BCT (A) , and a minimum score of 180 BCT (Speaking).<\/li>\n<li>Scholarship for One-Semester Study Students: This category provides a sponsorship\u00a0for 5 months. Applicant should have no prior experience of studying in China, but have a\u00a0minimum score of 120 in HSK Test (Level 2), and a minimum score of 40 in HSKK\u00a0(Beginner Level), or have a minimum score of 100 in BCT (A), and a minimum score of\u00a0120 in BCT (Speaking).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Scholarship Coverage<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0a waiver of fee for registration and tuition<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0free on-campus dormitory accommodation<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0CNY 2,500 monthly living allowance<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0outpatient medical service and comprehensive medical insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application and Enrollment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Applicants shall visit the Confucius Institute Scholarship website at\u00a0http:\/\/cis.chinese.cn, set up an individual account, fill out the Scholarship\u00a0Application Form online accurately, upload the required documents, and submit\u00a0the Application <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>before the deadline May 10<\/strong><\/span>. Such documents should be prepared:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Digital photo<\/li>\n<li>Valid passport front-page photocopy;<\/li>\n<li>HSK, HSKK or BCT, BCT (Speaking) score reports. Winners of the finals of the\u00a0\u201cChinese Bridge\u201d Chinese Proficiency Competitions may submit the certificate\u00a0of scholarship instead;<\/li>\n<li>Application statement (a paragraph written in Chinese that states the\u00a0applicant&#8217;s study background, plan and purpose of studying in China)<\/li>\n<li>Recommendation letter signed by the head of the recommending institutions\u00a0(objective comments on the applicant, including whether the applicant is a\u00a0student of Confucius Institute or other identity).<\/li>\n<li>Highest educational certificate or current student certificate<\/li>\n<li>Scanning copy of personal signature<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. After successful online application and uploading of materials, the applicant\u00a0should request the recommending institutes to review and recommend the\u00a0application. For later admission procedures and timely preparation of enrollment\u00a0materials, we request all recommending institutes to finish recommending\u00a0applications in the Scholarship System before May 20.<\/p>\n<p>3. When the applications are verified by Hanban, GZU will examine the qualification\u00a0of the candidates and send an admission list for Hanban\u2019s approval. Hanban will\u00a0decide the final list of scholarship winners.
