It provides an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB\u2019s developing members to pursue postgraduate studies at 29 educational institutions in 10 countries in Asia and the Pacific.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><strong>The ADB-JSP provides:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full tuition fees<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monthly subsistence allowance (including housing)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Books and instructional materials<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medical insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Travel expenses<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For scholars engaged in research, a special grant may be available for thesis preparation. In special circumstances, computer literacy, preparatory language, and other similar courses may be covered under the scholarship.<\/span><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h6><strong>Eligible major of fields: <a href=\"https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4457 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"149\" srcset=\"https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/image2.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science and Technology<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Economics, Business and Management<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Development Studies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Law and Public Policy<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h6><strong>Eligibility requirements:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Citizen of an ADB borrowing member and aJapanese Official Development Assistance scholarship eligible country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gained admission to an approved course in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">any of the 29 institutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have a bachelor&#8217;s degree or its equivalent with a superior academic record.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At least 2 years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not more than 35 years old at the time of application. For programs that are appropriate for senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years old.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In good health.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Should agree to return to his or her home country after completion of studies under the program.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Executive directors, alternate directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and close relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for the scholarship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Staff of ADB\u2013JSP partner institutions are not eligible for the scholarship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants living or working in a country other than his or her home country are not eligible for the scholarship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ADB\u2013JSP does not support applicants who are already enrolled in a graduate degree program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h6><strong> Procedures for Applying:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicant requests for information and application forms from the chosen partner institution.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicant completes required documents for application including ADB-JSP information sheet.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicant sends documents to the institution.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The institution evaluates and decides on admission and applicant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Institution sends shortlist of candidates to ADB.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ADB reviews submission from institutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ADB recommends awardees based on its selection criteria to the Japanese executive director for approval.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ADB selects scholars and informs institutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Institution informs all scholars.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h6><b>Duration<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scholarship is for one (1) year with an extension to the second year of study, as appropriate, and the maximum duration of scholarship award is two (2) years for master\u2019s program.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>Deadline<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Send applications for scholarships <strong>at least six months prior<\/strong> to the planned time that you wish to commence a study.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please refer to the normal month of intake and deadline of application in the participating academic institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Refer to these links below for more information about the courses and the participating institutions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/ADBJAPANScholarshipBrochure\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bit.ly\/ADBJAPANScholarshipBrochure<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/ADBJAPANFAQ\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/ADBJAPANFAQ<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Website:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adb.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.adb.org\/<\/span><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brief Description The Asian Development Bank (ADB)\u2013Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) was established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan.
