[unpad.ac.id, 23\/9\/3019] Celebrating the 25th<\/sup> Dies Natalis<\/em> of Faculty of Nursing Universitas Padjadjaran, Student Executive Board of Study Programs Outside the Main Campus (PSDKU) Unpad in Garut held a Blood Drive at PSDKU Unpad Garut Campus Proklamasi Street No. 5 Garut, Wednesday (18\/9). This is an annual event held by PSDKU Unpad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundreds of participants took part in Blood Drive which was held by the Nursing Program PSDKU Unpad in Garut Regency, Wednesday (18\/9). As many as 350 blood bags were collected in the Blood Drive.*<\/em> <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe hope that\nthis blood drive can benefit people in Garut that are in need of blood\ntransfusion, especially minor patients suffering thalassemia. This blood drive\nis very much welcomed by Yayasan Talasemia Indonesia (Indonesian Thalassemia\nFoundation) Garut Regency,\u201d said the Head of PSDKU Unpad Garut Ahmad Yamin,\nSkp, M.Kes., Sp.Kom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmad Yamin said\nthat Blood Drive was part of the 25th<\/sup> Dies Natalis<\/em> of Faculty of Nursing Unpad which was held in Garut\nCampus. PSDKU Unpad has even received an award from Garut Regency Government\nfor being an institution that actively holding a blood drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Head\nof Blood Transfusion (UTD) PMI Garut Regency dr. Sisca Risya Fujiarti said that\nthe blood drive went orderly and the committee for the event had followed\ninstructions given by PMI Garut who worked as blood transfusion technicians in\nthe event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to\nGaluh Citra who was the Project Supervisor in the event, the blood drive was\nopen for the public, whether individuals, communities or other universities in\nGarut Regency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

350 blood bags\nwere collected from the blood drive. In total, there were 450 individuals\nregistered to partake in the event. However, not all of them passed the health\nscreening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From all the\nblood bags collected, as much as 70% of the blood bags were collected from\ndonors outside the campus. This showed the active participation of people in\nGarut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides PMI\nGarut Regency, the blood drive was also supported by many institutions,\nincluding Garut Regency Health Department, Yayasan Talasemia Indonesia Garut\nRegency, and Public Safety Center (OSC) \u201cSi Jeruk\u201d 199 as Garut Regency\nemergency and referral service. Some sponsors also participated in the event,\nincluding Kesetiakawanan dan Kepedulian Sosial Jakarta Foundation, Bank Syariah\nMandiri (BSM), Mobil Putih White Car Indonesia Community, and Dodol Picnic\nGarut.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n
