A total of six applied undergraduate study programs of Unpad were selected as finalists to present their curriculum design in Joint Meeting Room, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Floor, Unpad Rectorate Building, Jatinangor campus, on Wednesday (4\/9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/image-9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2226\" srcset=\"https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/image-9.png 624w, https:\/\/international.unpad.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/image-9-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><figcaption> Three 2019 judges while giving presentations during the 2019 Curriculum Design Challenge Day (CDCD), attended by a number of Applied Undergraduate study programs at Unpad, held in the Joint Meeting Room, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Floor, Unpad Rectorate Building, Jatinangor campus, on Wednesday (4\/9).\u00a0 (Photo: Arief Maulana) * <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Actually\nthere are 13 applied undergraduate study programs that we invited.&nbsp; Based on the results of the selection, there\nare six study programs that qualified for the final today,&#8221; said the Unpad\nDirector of Education and Student Affairs Prof.&nbsp;\nDr.&nbsp; Wawan Hermawan, M.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nactivity was opened by the Acting Rector of Unpad, Prof.&nbsp; Dr.&nbsp;\nRina Indiastuti, S.E., M.SIE.&nbsp;\nProf.&nbsp; Rina explained that currently\nthe Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of\nIndonesia is revitalizing vocational education, including applied bachelors.&nbsp; Therefore, the vocational education process\nat Unpad must also have good quality educational activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof.&nbsp; Rina said that the vocational program should\nbe able to produce skillful graduates according to the expertise promised by\nthe study program. Vocational education graduates are expected to be able to immediately\nwork or create jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;So\nof course we hope that there are no graduates from undergraduate or applied\nvocational programs who couldn\u2019t get a job once they graduate.&nbsp; It\u2019s even better if they get one before\ngraduating,&#8221; said Prof. Rina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\naddition, vocational education graduates are also expected to be able to contribute\ndirectly to the national industry and development, especially West Java.&nbsp; Prof.&nbsp;\nRina hopes that Unpad vocational education can have\nfactories\/workshops\/mini workshops that will not only be used to improve\nstudent skills, but also to produce value-added products or services that can\nbe useful in improving the local economy, especially West Java.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;So\nwe will actually dedicate, our applied bachelor school to develop West\nJava,&#8221; hoped Prof.&nbsp; Rina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During\nthat event, Prof.&nbsp; Rina revealed that\nUnpad also seeks to develop international standard vocational education.&nbsp; The final target is to make this study\nprogram a place of education as well as training for students and the general\npublic with certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;So\nit will become a center for the certification of skills in accordance with the\nKKNI that has been set,&#8221; said Prof.&nbsp;\nRina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nthe 2019 CDCD activity, in addition to being given a curriculum design\nchallenge, the participants also received inspiration and evaluation from the\njudges as well as speakers who were present, relating to developing the quality\nof the implementation of applied undergraduate education.&nbsp; The judges were Wikan Sakarinto, S.T.&nbsp; from Universitas Gadjah Mada, M.Sc., Ph.D.,\nDr.&nbsp; K. Paula Santi Rudanti, M.Si. from Politeknik\nBandung, and Marwansyah, S.E.&nbsp; M.Si.,\nPh.D from Bandung Polytechnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nsix study programs that became finalists were D-IV Taxation Accounting, D-IV\nInternational Business, D-IV Digital Marketing, D-IV Maritime Tourism, D-IV\nGovernment Administration, and D-IV Midwifery.
