Head of 2019-2024 Universitas Padjadjaran\nRector Selection Committee (Panitia\nPemilihan Rektor – PPR) Dr. Soni A. Nulhaqim, M.Si., said that the\nonline selection will involve the participation of all students, lecturers, and\nstaffs in Universitas Padjadjaran. Dr. Soni stated that the selection is meant\nto show the popularity of each prospective candidate among university members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe selection is meant to show the popularity\nof each prospective candidate among university members and staff, not to assess\nthe qualities, capabilities, nor capacities of the prospective rector\ncandidates,\u201d said Dr. Soni during the socialization regarding the Online Selection\nMechanism of Prospective Rector Candidates at Bale Sawala UNPAD, Jatinangor on\nMonday (3\/9) afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are nine prospective rector candidates.\nThey are (ordered alphabetically) Prof. Arief Sjamsulaksan Kartasasmita, dr.,\nSp.M(K)., M.Kes., Ph.D. Dr. Arry Bainus,\nM.A., Prof. Dr. Ir. Hendarmawan, M.Sc., Dr. Keri Lestari, M.Si., Apt., Prof.\nDr. Reiza D. Dienaputra, M.Hum., Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, S.E., MSIE., Prof.\nDr. Sri Mulyani, Ak., CA., Dr. Toni Toharudin, M.Sc., dan Prof. Dr. Unang\nSupratman, M.Si.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pushing for\nParticipation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Member of the Unpad Board of Trustees (MWA) dr.\nIrvan Afriandi, Grad. Dipl. OEH, MPH, Dr.PH, who was present during the socialization,\nexplained that the prospective candidate selection process is part of the first\nstage of Unpad Rector Candidate Selection. This process is in line with MWA\nregulation Number 1 2019 about Mechanism of Selection, Appointment, and\nInauguration of Universitas Padjadjaran Rector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Furthermore, Irvan explained that in the\nregulation, the online selection was initially meant to take place if only\nthere are more than nine prospective candidates. The prospective candidates\nwill then be reduced to nine through the online selection process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In reality, from 11 prospective candidates that\nregistered, only nine qualified the completeness, suitability, and validity of\nadministrative requirements as mandated in MWA regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAlhamdullilah<\/em>,\nnow we have nine prospective candidates. Actually, whether the online selection\ntakes place or not, the number of prospective candidates is still nine.\nHowever, there is this enthusiasm where the MWA is craving for participation of\nuniversity members and staff. Because of this enthusiasm, the online selection\nwill take place, for it is mandated,\u201d Irvan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Irvan said all university members and staff\ncould know more about the prospective rector candidates through the online\nselection process. Because of this, Irvan was hopeful for the participation of\nall university members and students. The output of the selection process will\nbe decreed by the MWA and then handed over to the Academic Senate for rector\nselection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the regulation, there are for stages of the Rector\nSelection Process. The first stage is the Prospective Candidate Selection. The\nsecond stage is the selection from prospective candidates to candidates. The\nthird is the election of Rector from candidate decreed in the second stage. The\nlast stage is the appointment and inauguration of the elected Rector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Selection Mechanism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Secretary of Unpad Rector Selection Committee\nArif Firmansyah explained that the online selection will start with data\nvalidation of voters from 1 to 3 September. He expected all university members\nand staff to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The validity\/eligibility of voters can be\nchecked at http:\/\/pilrek.unpad.ac.id<\/a>. If the email of eligible voters\nlisted is wrong, eligible voters can correct the mistake. If the eligible\nvoter\u2019s email is not registered in the system, the eligible voter can contact\nthe Integrated Service Unit in the Jatinangor Rectorate Building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCorrection can be made by the Unpad Directorate\nof Planning and Information Systems (DPSI),\u201d Arif said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The selection of prospective candidates is\nconducted online. Link for voting the prospective candidates will be sent to\nall members of university and staffs\u2019 emails according to the data in SIAT Unpad.\nArif said the link sent to each email is unique and confidential, hence it must\nnot be shared or forwarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The data collected through the online selection\nwill be reported on 11-13 September.
