[unpad.ac.id, 2\/9\/2019] A lecturer from the Universitas Padjadjaran Faculty of Economics and Business Dian Masyita, PhD, was honored the Syariah Figure 2019 award (Tokoh Syariah 2019<\/em>) from academic community by Investor Magazine. The event took place during Syariah Awards 2019, held by Investor Magazine in Jakarta, Thursday (22\/8).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lecturer of the Universitas Padjadjaran Faculty of Economics and Business Dian Masyita, Ph.D., was honored the 2019 Shariah Figure Award from the academic community by Investor Magazine, last Thursday (8\/22). <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dian was honored\nbecause of her commitment and consistency in the field of Islamic economics and\nfinance. Investor Magazine also assessed Dian\u2019s efforts and impacts for the\ndevelopment of Islamic economy and finance sector in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When interviewed\nat the Unpad Office of Public Communication, Dian explained that her\nconsistency in the field of Islamic economics started when she was studying for\nher master\u2019s degree in 1999. Since then, she started focusing on Islamic Endowment\nFund Modelling and made it the topic for her thesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This consistency\ncontinued when she enrolled in a Doctorate of Islamic finance program at Durham\nUniversity, England. Dian has done various research in the field of Islamic\neconomics. Her work in Islamic economics research motivated her to present her\nworks in many international forums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is no\nsurprise that Investor Magazine has mentioned Dian as an inspirational figure\nand pioneer in the Indonesian Islamic economy sector since early 2000. \u201cThese\nare the consequences, I have to push myself to be more consistent and keep on\ndeveloping, inspiring, and pioneering things that are new in the field of\nIslamic economics and finance,\u201d Dian said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being honored as\nthe Syariah Figure has motivated Dian to be more active. Beyond the academic\nfield, Dian also pushes herself to give advice to practitioners in the field of\nIslamic economics, like banking and non-bank financial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is hoped that\nthis award can motivated academics, especially in the field of Islamic\neconomics, to be more consistent in learning and creating new ideas in this\ndisruption era. This is intended to develop the Islamic economic sector in the\nfuture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cooperation\nbetween stakeholders such as Bank Indonesia and strategic Ministries must be\ndone. Dian stated that without cooperation, it will be hard to develop the\nIslamic economy sector massively in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides Dian,\nInvestor Magazine also honored Prof. Dr Yunahar Ilyas, LC., M.Ag., the head of\nIndonesian Ulema Council, the Syariah Figure 2019 award from the ulema\ncommunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
