[unpad.ac.id, 11\/7\/2019] Universitas Padjadjaran Acting Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, S.E., M.SIE. officially opened Unpad Summer Program 2019 in Bale Rucita, Unpad Jatinangor campus, Thursday (11\/7). Unpad Summer Program will be held from today until the coming July 23rd<\/sup> 2019, with 53 participants from 13 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI hope you can all enjoy this event,\u201d said Prof. Rina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Rina also hopes that through this event, the\nparticipants can get to know Unpad better. Other than that, the participants\u2019\nwill better understand Indonesia, especially the places they will visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head of Unpad International Office dr. Ronny, M.Kes., Ph.D.,\nAIFo said that during the event, the students will learn many things. Other\nthan Jatinangor and bandung, they will also visit some locations in\nPangandaran, Kebumen, and the Traditional Village of Cirendeu in North Cimahi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year will be the third time Unpad Summer Program is\nheld. The theme for the program this year is \u201cEmpowering Integrated Culture and\nArt for Tourism via Digital Economy 4.0\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the theme, Unpad Summer Program will take the\nparticipants to see for themselves the development of culture, art, and tourism\nin public, related to the technological advancements made recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnpad Summer Program will take them to really see the\nexisting problems or that may pop up in the places visited,\u201d told Ronny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By directly meeting the locals, participants are expected to\nlearn and give their ideas through their own perspectives for public\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis event is not just a visit and the usual tourist\nactivities. They are going there and integrated with the local art agenda at\nthe place, we also work together with the local government,\u201d said Ronny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The various activities that the participants will take part\nin are the international kite festival in Pangandaran, visit to some local\nfirms, do cultural exchange, and get involved in the local government\nactivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this activity, Ronny also hopes that Unpad will be\nable to show the local culture of Indonesia to other countries. Other than\nthat, this activity can increase the number of international students visiting\nUnpad, and may increase Unpad\u2019s international network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
