[unpad.ac.id, 8\/7\/2019] In order to improve the quality of major accreditation in each faculty, the Quality Assurance Unit (SPM) of Universitas Padjadjaran conducted a roadshow \u201cSocialization of Major Accreditation Instruments (IAPS) Version 4.0\u201d to every faculty in Unpad. This event was held from 4th<\/sup> to 16th<\/sup> July 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity was held in accordance with the new\ninstruments launched by National University Accreditation Institution (BAN-PT)\nfor the accreditation of majors in university. The instruments based on output\nand outcome is known by Major Accreditation Instrument 4.0 (IAPS 4.0).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head of Unpad Quality Assurance Unit Dr. Hj. Rd. Funny\nMustikasari Elita, M.Si, explained that the activity is intended to give the\nnewest information regarding IAPS 4.0 with 9 criteria. This activity is not\njust socialization, but also an early preparation, because there are new\ninstruments that must be adjusted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith the new instruments implemented, the strategy of each\nfaculty and the university is impacted. There must be an adjustment to the new\ninstruments and assessments. The instruments based on these 9 criteria is\napplied starting April 1st<\/sup> 2019 and is already adjusted with\ninternational standards, in the hope that university graduates are of high\nquality, is innovative and entrepreneurial, can communicate and collaborate\nwith other parties that can give satisfaction not only for local users but also\ninternational,\u201d explained Dr. Funny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Dunny also explained that the difference\nbetween the old instruments and the new is in its grading and weight. In IAPS\n4.0, universities must make a Major Performance Report (LKPD) and Self\nEvaluation Report (LED) according to the 9 criteria. The difference is also the\nproponent of accreditation that\u2019s now done by Major Maintenance Unit not the\nMajor itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, quality measurement is more weighted on the\nprocess, output and outcome, That way, the measurement focuses on quality more\nthan quantity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Funny encouraged major management to start applying the\nneed for data and information in accordance to the new instrument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Told by Dr. Funny, the focus of the new instrument is\nstudents. With more students, there should be more achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDevelop the existing skills, how they can innovate, create\nactivities based on each of their achievements, have students take part in the\nlecturer\u2019s research. Other than that, create classes that has a uniqueness to\nthat major so it can be chosen by international students. Majors have to\ncollaborate with outside parties and build networking,\u201d told Dr. Funny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Funny said that the results of the IAPS 4.0\nAccreditation is told by status \u201cAccredited\u201d and \u201cNot Accredited\u201d and ranked\n\u201cGood\u201d, \u201cVery Good\u201d, and \u201cExcellent\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This socialization invited Dean, Vice Dean, Head and Manager\nof Department, Pusdi, the managers, as well as students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
