(Photo: Tedi Yusup) <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Universitas Padjadjaran Acting Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rina\nIndiastuti, M.SIE., explained, holding the vocational Applied Bachelor program\nis needed to fulfil the need for applicative labor in the industrial sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe (Unpad) are responding to demands from business,\nindustrial, and government for applicative bachelors, so they can immediately\nwork in fields that fit their competence and qualification,\u201d said Prof. Rina\nwhen holding the press conference in Unpad Executive Lounge, Dipati Ukur Street\nNo. 35, Bandung, Thursday (27\/6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The eight majors to be opened this year will complete the\nsix vocational majors already opened before. Prof. Rina said, these majors are\nopened to fulfil the need for competent human resources&nbsp; in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other than that, these majors were opened to respond various\nnational potentials, especially in West Java. Hopefully, these majors can help\nform human resources that can develop that potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 8 new Applied Bachelor majors are Public Accounting,\nInternational Business, and Digital Marketing in the Faculty of Economics and\nBusiness, Logistics Business and Digital Archiving in Faculty of Social and Political\nSciences, Marine Tourism in Faculty of Fisheries and Naval Science, as well as\nAgrotechnopreneur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the major Agrotechnopreneur, the major is an integrated\ntransdisciplinary major from various faculties, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty\nof Husbandry, Faculty of Agricultural Industry Technology, and Faculty of\nFisheries and Naval Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the 6 Applied Bachelor majors that has been held\nthe previous years and will also be opened this year are: Tax Accounting (FEB),\nGovernment Administration (FISIP), Public Administration (FISIP), Chinese\nLanguage and Culture (FIB), Media Production Management (Fikom), and Midwifery\n(FK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Integration with\nPractitioners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Rina explained, to uphold the quality of these\nvocational majors, all majors will be based on partnership. The partnership is\ndone with a number of businesses, industries, or the related government sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe first partnership is formulation of learning\noutcomes\/curriculum. Because vocational graduates are encouraged to work\nimmediately, so the target is what the business world needs, how the curriculum\nwill be like,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second partnership is work placement. Unpad vocational\nprogram emphasizes the balance between theory and practice. This is what\ndifferentiates it from the regular bachelor program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe special thing about vocational is the same amount of\npractical work, or even more. This is what improves their skills,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of that, the lecturers in Applied Bachelor majors\nare not only academicians. Some practitioners from business, industry, and\ngovernment will also be included as lecturers or instructors<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVocational majors need lecturers or instructors with\npractical experience,\u201d said Prof. Rina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before holding the press conference, Prof. Rina Indiastuti\naccompanied by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Arry Bainus did\na handover of permit for Applied Bachelor program to the related faculties\u2019\ndean. The handover is done in Unpad Executive Lounge, Dipati Ukur street No.\n35, Bandung, Thursday (27\/6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration Period<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The registration for Applied Bachelor program will be opened\non July 1<sup>st<\/sup> 2019 on 13.00 WIB to July 13<sup>th<\/sup> 2019 on 23.59\nWIB. Applicants can access the registration information on <a href=\"http:\/\/smup.unpad.ac.id\/\">http:\/\/smup.unpad.ac.id\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Unpad Applied Bachelor program accepts SMA\/MA\/SMK\ngraduates from 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. This is proven by diploma submitted\nat the registration. For 2019 graduates, diploma can be replaced by Certificate\nof Graduation or temporary diploma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection for the Applied Bachelor program uses the same\nmethod as the Regular Bachelor program, using a Computer Based Written Test\nusing an Android o Mobile Assisted Testing (MAT) system. This test is divided\ninto two, Academic Potential Test and Scholastic Competence Test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academic Potential test will include subjects according to\nthe chosen cluster, such as scitech mathematics, physics, biology, and\nchemistry for science and technology cluster, as well as basic mathematics,\ngeography, history, sociology, and economics for the social sciences cluster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile Scholastic Competence Test will test knowledge,\ncomprehension, logic, quantitative, as well as the examinee ability to\nunderstand written text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After passing the first selection, applicants will have to\nfollow the second phase in the form of TOEFL and interview with mini interview\nmodel. Other than that, there are also specific tests held by some faculties;\nMinnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) for Midwifery major or swimming\ntest for Marine Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The registration fee for the test is Rp500.000 and Rp600.000\nfor major with special tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, for applicants from poor families must have\neither Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP), Kartu Program Keluarga Harapan (KPKH), Kartu\nJakarta Pintar (KJP), or Kartu Keluarga Sejahtera (KKS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement for the first phase of the selection will\nbe held on July 25<sup>th<\/sup> 2019.
