This drug is not in powder form, but uses
effervescent technology.

Through this technology, consumers do not have to bother spreading
the pesticide into various puddles. By simply dipping an effervescent tablet in
water, the pesticide will automatically dissolve.

In a release received by the Unpad Public Communication
Office, Jemukti uses natural ingredients in the form of lime peel. This
material claims to make the product safer than similar products that tend to
use synthetic products.

Thus, Jemukti provides a guarantee that this product will
only have a minor impact if the water mixed with the product is ingested by
humans.

Imam and his team also conducted a campaign to use “Jemukti”
to provide positive benefits to the Indonesian family environment. It is hoped
that, in addition to being able to reduce the number of dengue disease
occurrences, the product that has the slogan “Exterminate Larvae Before
Becoming Mosquitos” can be a solution to reduce lime peel waste.

Jemukti product development was part of the the Unpad
Student Creativity Program for the Entrepreneurship category (PKM-M). At
present, the “Jemukti” PKM-K team has successfully received funding from the
Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. *

Release / am
Translation by Shabrina Maharani

Instagram: @internationalofficeunpad
LikedIn : International Office Universitas Padjadjaran
Twitter : @upgrade_io
Facebook : Universitas Padjadjaran’s Global Relation and Advancements
Website : international.unpad.ac.id

[unpad.ac.id, 02/07/2019] In an effort to tackle the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Indonesia, five Universitas Padjadjaran students developed a mosquito larvae pesticide product using lime peel waste.
