This participation is a follow-up of the cooperation that\nhas been built between Unpad and the Sumedang Regency Government. One of the\nfocus that will be done by Unpad is doing accompaniment in developing the\nfishing technology in the tourism area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the initial stage of the partnership, the Sumedang\nRegency Government through the Sumedang Region Secretary invites a number of\nUnpad professionals to be speakers in the discussion \u201cAccelerated Development\nProgram of Buricak Burinong Tourism Area\u201d, Tuesday (18\/6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the meeting, a team of Unpad professional comprised of Prof.\nDr. Opan S. Suwartapradja (Faculty of Social Sciences), Prof. Dr. Budi Nurani\nRuchjana (Center of Etnoscience Studies Faculty of Mathematics), Dr. Mohammad\nTaufik (Electro Engineering program Faculty of Mathematics), Dr. Sinta Ningrum and\nProf. I Made Joni (KST Unpad), as well as a number of Unpad students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This team is coordinated by the Dean of Unpad Faculty of\nDentistry Dr. Nina Djustiana, drg., M.Kes., who is also the coordinator of\npartnership between Unpad and Sumedang Regency Government (Pemkab Sumedang).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Region Secretary of Sumedang Regency Drs. Herman Suryatman,\nM.Si., said, after the flooding of 26 villages in Jatigede Reservoir, both the\npeople and the region faces many problems. From social, cultural, economic,\neducation, environmental, to other problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pemkab needs to organize well both socially and economically\nso the public can survive. In reality, said Herman, organizing in real life is\nnot as easy as turning the back of a hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the discussion, there are several attempts to be\nconducted on the field. These attempts are done together by academicians,\nagency, and the public in solving the problems of affected regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this discussion, Unpad professional team conveyed several\nideas to build Buricak Burinong tourism area which is located in one of the\naffected villages, Pakualam Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for suggested agendas, one of which is the development of\nEcotourism potential with local culture as basis. The second is the\nencouragement of creative economy activity for the affected people conducted in\na systematic and thorough procedure according to each region\u2019s potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt has been started through various ALG activities in the\nform of nursery and planting of indigofera grass and sheep. However, the\nactivity has yet to produce an optimal result, more development is needed with\ncooperation from the government, academicians, and residents,\u201d told one of the\nrepresentatives from Unpad team of professionals Prof Dr Budi Nurani Ruchjana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another of the ideas, he remarked, is to design the\ndevelopment of cultural tourism villages by integrating various cultural\npotentials in the Sumedang Regency; preparing roads to support the development\nof ecotourism in Jatigede to assist the sports facilities (paragliding, out bond,\nand tourism route passed through by the local transportation) by involving the\nlocal public as managers through Bumdes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOthers, provide supporting facilities for tourist\naccommodation, such as mosques, clean homestays with small stalls selling food\nand drinks as culinary unique to Jatigede with affordable prices,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another suggestion is the use of information technology and\nmultimedia as a way to promote the tourism area, development of hybrid power\nplant by utilizing solar and wind power, as well as providing a management\ninformation system for fisheries for the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
