Dean of Fikom Unpad Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, S.H., S.Sos.,\nM.Si., said that Cultural Festival has been an icon of Fikom Unpad since 1987.\nThe cultural festival is a yearly activity as an assignment from the subject\nInter-Cultural Communication from the Faculty of Communication Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Dr. Dadang, this activity shows that academic\nactivities don\u2019t always have to be in class. Knowledge isn\u2019t always earned from\ntextbooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a uniting activity, can create bonds, and can\nintroduce various cultures,\u201d spoke Dr. Dadang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Said by Dr. Dadang, in communication sciences, introduction\nof culture is very important to avoid miscommunications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCommunication, one of them is how we recognize and know the\nidentity of who we are speaking to, so that communication obstacles may be\nreduced from understanding various cultures,\u201d said Dr. Dadang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the activity, the students introduced culture by various\nperformances, such as musicals, dances, cultural ceremonies, etc. At each\nstand, they also exhibited each culture\u2019s uniqueness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The participants also wore clothes according to the culture\nthey represent. Not only traditional clothing, but also modern clothing, or\neven similar to famous figures in each country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cKembara\u201d cultural festival was officially opened by the\nDirector of Education and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Wawan Hermawan, M.S. In his\ngreetings, Prof. Wawan appreciated this activity and hoped that it will come\nback even better next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTransformative learning has been done, not only in class\nbut also outside. I am proud, I hope next year\u2019s will be better,\u201d spoke Prof.\nWawan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
