The collaboration was realized through the signing of a\nMemorandum of Understanding conducted by the Vice Rector for Research,\nCommunity Engagement, Cooperation, Innovation, and Business Dr. Keri Lestari,\nS.Si., M.Si., Apt. and the Head of the Halal Cooperation and Standardization\nCenter of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr. Nifasri M.Pd., at\nBale Sawala, Unpad Rectorate Building, Jatinangor campus on Wednesday (15\/5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe hope that this partnership agreement can soon be the\nbasis for us to carry out real cooperation activities between Universitas\nPadjadjaran and BPJPH,\u201d hoped Dr. Keri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, Dr. Nifasri said that his side is cooperating\nwith several well-known universities in Indonesia, including Unpad, to conduct\nstudies related to halal products in Indonesia. In addition to conducting\nresearch, cooperation is also expected to be carried out through the\ndevelopment of halal examination agencies, improving HR competencies, providing\nhalal products, halal auditors, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo, there are many things that we can work on together. We\nfrom BPJPH of the Ministry of Religious Affairs are very proud to be able to\nwork with well-known universities,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was carried\nout at the beginning of the public lecture titled \u201cThe Role of Institutes of\nHigher Education in the Implementation of Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal\nProduct Assurance\u201d. The public lecture was delivered by Dr. Nifasri and\nmoderated by Robi Andoyo, PhD, a lecturer at the Unpad Faculty of Agricultural\nIndustrial Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Nifasri said that with the approval of Law Number 33 in\n2014, halal certification in Indonesia has become mandatory. The law is present\nto protect the public from non-halal products. In several countries, halal has\nbecome a necessity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis Law is here to protect the public,\u201d he said. *<\/p>\n\n\n\n
