On Wednesday (24\/4), Lises Unpad performed at the \u201c1st Folk\nContemporary Festival\u201d held at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University. During the\nevent, the Lises Unpad delegation performed two dances, the Ronggeng Panggung\nDance and the Makalangan Dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lises Unpad managed to amaze the audience with their\nperformance. Their dynamic dance movements and beautiful costume prompted the\naudience to show their great appreciation. Before appearing on the festival\nstage, the Lises Unpad delegation held a Helaran Dance workshop that was attended\nby local students. The participants learned the basic movements of Helaran Dance\nwith joy and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dance workshop activities were also held at the Suan\nSunandha Rajabhat University for two consecutive days, on 27 and 28 April 2019.\nIn addition to providing Sundanese dance training to local students, the Lises\nUnpad dancers were also taught traditional Thai dances by dancers from Suan\nSunandha Rajabhat University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tia Amalia, head of Unpad Lises, said that the workshop functioned\nnot only as a cultural exchange but also as a way to introduce the richness of\nIndonesian culture at the international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Monday (29\/4), the Lises Unpad delegation performed two\ndances, the Ronggeng Panggung and Makalangan Dances at the SSRU Dance Festival\nheld at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, the Lises Unpad delegation which participated in\nthe dance festival in Thailand consisted of 15 people along with Lises Advisor\nTaufik Ampera M. Hum, a lecturer at the Unpad Faculty of Cultural Sciences, as\ntheir chaperone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ronggeng Panggung dance performed at the two dance\nfestivals in Thailand had previously been performed at the Kagoshima Asian\nYouth Arts Festival in Japan in 2015. The Ronggeng Panggung dance was the\nresult of the creativity of Oga Wilantara, as a Sundanese arts activist and\nLises Unpad alumni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe dance was created around the 90s. The Ronggeng Panggung\ndance, as creative dance, must be celebrated and introduced to the wider\ncommunity, including the international community. By bringing the Ronggeng Panggung\nDance to the international stage, both Lises and Unpad can be better known\nthrough their cultural arts,\u201d said Taufik Ampera. *<\/p>\n\n\n\n
