Unpad Deputy\nChancellor for Academic and Learning, Dr. Arry Bainus, M.A., said that\nuniversities are open to anyone, both non-disabled and disabled. Provided that\nhe has good academic abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Anyone\nalready has the opportunity to work together in college,” said Dr. Arry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Government of\nIndonesia through the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education\n(Kemenristekdikti) has drafted a regulation that states that basically higher education\nmust include all parties. This rule is agreed by Unpad and other universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Arry explained,\npeople with disabilities may also enter any study program as long as it does\nnot interfere with their field of study and work. Although there are several\nstudy programs that require certain conditions, such as not being color blind.\nAs long as he is able to attend the learning process, he can still enter the\nstudy program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Moreover,\n(for) the field of study that does not require anything, or as long as its\nlimitations can be helped by technology, disabled people can participate in\nit,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry of\nResearch, Technology and Higher Education has also made it easy for disabled\npeople to enroll in higher education. The implementation of Computer Based\nWriting Examination (UTBK) as a requirement to apply to PTN (National\nuniversities) can also be participated by participants who have limited vision.\nHowever, it does not apply to all study programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, there is\nno difference in learning patterns between regular and special needs.\n“Differences are made if it cannot be followed, such as the form of the\ntest there is a difference. If the participant can follow it normally, we (will\nbe) treating (the admission) as usual,” said Dr. Arry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For example, the\nsuccess of Dr. Rizki Harta Cipta who graduated on time with Judiciary Cumlaude\nin the Doctoral Program in Law Science Unpad prove that higher education is not\nlimited to only certain groups. Even with limited vision, it did not become a barrier\nfor Rizki to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rizki is one of the\ndisabled people who brings inspiration to the world. Physical limitation is not\nan obstacle to pursuing ideals. With strong determination, he is able to\nachieve a decent education and is able to devote his knowledge to the benefit\nof society. Therefore, the Government must continue to support the disabled\npeople. *<\/p>\n\n\n\n
