Unpad held this event in collaboration with University\nNetwork for Indonesia Infrastructure Development (UNIID) and PT. Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (PII) Persero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sri said that Indonesia has strong capital to enter the\nhighest country income group. Indonesia’s economic sector is not bad, and\nIndonesia is a country with constant economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At present, Indonesia’s economic growth rate is above 5%.\nWith this growth, its poverty rate and Gini coefficient has decreased. \u201cThis\nmeans we don’t only see growth.\nInflation is also maintained. At the very least, Indonesia has the capital to\ndesign policies and display performance in the form of relatively high growth\nwith good quality and inclusiveness,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, continued Sri, the State Revenue and Expenditure\nBudget will still be maintained in order to fund crucial fields to strengthen\nIndonesia’s economic fundamentals. Infrastructure development and human\nresources are an important focus. The education sector occupies around 20% of\nthe state budget financing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Universities are also expected to be critical partners of\nthe development process. Students from many disciplines can pursue various\nfields of development. \u201cThis is very important so that we can manage this\nnation well. So that we build it well. So that we can take good care [of the\nnation], thus creating an inclusive atmosphere in all circles,\u201d said Sri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Part of\nInfrastructure Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The affiliation of 31 Indonesian universities in UNIID has\nan important role in Indonesia’s infrastructure development. The university\nnetwork is expected to be an elite that not only talks about inspiration but\ncan do real work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUNIID is expected to be a practical community that can represent\nthe distinguished intellectual elite that can help solve development\nproblems,” Sri said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n UNIID is a network of cooperation between universities\nthroughout Indonesia initiated by PT. Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (PII) Persero. This network of cooperation was\ncreated to gather all the potential of universities in terms of infrastructure\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unpad joined as a member of the UNIID network after signing Memorandum\nof Understanding with PT. PII in 2016. In 2018, Unpad was chosen by acclamation\nas the general chairman of UNIID until 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Acting Unpad Rector, Prof. Rina Indiastuti, said that the participation of universities in Indonesia’s infrastructure development network would increase Indonesia’s competitiveness and economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe presence of UNIID is expected to be a driving force for\nimproving the quality of infrastructure and contributing not only to thinking,\nbut also making the whole journey of infrastructure development a learning\nopportunity to be shared with other universities,\u201d said Prof. Rina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The “Infrastructure Summit 2019” was attended by\nWest Java Governor M. Ridwan Kamil; Ministry of Finance officials;\nrepresentatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR); representatives\nfrom the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education\n(Menristekdikti); the executive\ndirector of PT. PII; and representatives from the UNIID member universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the event, the position of UNIID Chairperson was\nhanded over from the Rector of Gadjah\nMada University to the Acting Unpad Rector.
