The Head of the activity committee, Dr. F. Sri Susilaningsih,\nB.Sn., M.N., said that in the midst of the complexity of challenges in dealing\nwith patients, there needs to be collaboration from health workers. For this\nreason, it is important that institutions of higher education in healthcare have\nthe ability to collaborate across disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause of the healthcare service structure, there is no\nsingle science that can solve all patient problems. Patient ailments are\nbecoming more and more complex. It requires synergistic, mutual, and cohesive\napproaches among health care practitioners,\u201d said Dr. Sri during the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Sri explained that the workshop was held to support\nvarious Indonesian institutions of higher education in healthcare \u2013 especially\nin West Java \u2013 in developing IPE-based learning programs that are integrated in\nthe curriculum. During the workshop, participants attempted to integrate IPE-based\nlearning in accordance with the curriculum of each respective college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After curriculum development, the next stage is the preparation\nof teaching staff who will support the IPE-based teaching process. For this\nstage, the Unpad Faculty of Nursing team plan to attend the workshop\nparticipants’ colleges directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn the coming period we must prepare educators who will be\ninvolved, because they also have to work in the same work climate. We want to\nprepare for cohesiveness, so a collective culture must be built. We cannot\nbuild a collective culture among students if the educators themselves are not\nprepared for that,\u201d said Dr. Sri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Sri also hopes that the socialization and education\nabout IPE can lead to its spread to all institutions of higher education in\nhealthcare. Every healthcare university in Indonesia is expected to be able to\nprepare prospective professionals who have the capacity to collaborate\nprofessionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe prospective health professionals must not only be\neducated within the scope of their scientific discipline, but they must also\nlearn the concept of partnership. They must learn to understand the roles of\nother health professionals, whose scientific disciplines are different,\u201d said\nDr. Sri. *<\/p>\n\n\n\n
