In order to\naccelerate the strengthening cooperation, a meeting was held between Unpad,\nBRI, Sumedang Regency Government, and selected MSME actors in Kab. Sumedang at\nthe Unpad-Sumedang Science and Technology Zone (KST) building on Saturday\n(4\/18).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This meeting was an\nimplementation of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Unpad\nand the Sumedang Regency Government which was held in February. One of these\ncooperation aims to increase the acceleration and synergy of Unpad for the\nJatinangor community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vice Chancellor for\nResearch, Community Service, Cooperation, and Unpad Academic Corporation, Dr.\nKeri Lestari, M.Sc., said, there were two aspects related to the implementation\nof the increase in acceleration in the Sumedang area. One of them is\nstrengthening the platform-based MSME sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Actually the\nstrengthening of this MSME (for Unpad) has been planned for the entire West\nJava region. The pilot project is in Sumedang,” said Dr. Keri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presence of the\nKST Building on the Jatinangor campus can be used jointly by Unpad and the\nSumedang Regency Government to discuss various input solutions based on the\npower of research. This is in line with the purpose of the establishment of KST\nUnpad, which is to bridge the growth of MSMEs in West Java.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Keri explained,\nthis KST is an integration of three leading center activities in Unpad, namely\nthe Science and Technology Area, the Unpad BUMN Center of Excellence, and the\nUnpad Strategic Alliance (ASUP) in West\nJava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Platform-based\ndevelopment was chosen so that MSME players could be more competitive in the\nera of industrial revolution 4.0. In addition to government regulation support,\nfunding from the BUMN sector, and logistics from the industrial sector, the\nstrength of Unpad’s research is also an important capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, continued\nDr. Keri, the development of entrepreneurship will also be integrated with the Entrepreneurship-based\nJob Training model. At present, Unpad with Kemenristekdikti and USAID are\ncurrently designing an Entrepreneurship Community Service Program for higher\neducation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We (are) in\nsynergy. First, we collect (and look at) the MSME data, then (we decide) what\nkind of business platform we would implement. The guidance will be a professor\nwho goes directly to the village,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Keri said, the development\nof MSME actors is not easy. Fostering MSMEs is not just a matter of capital,\nfacilitation, and marketing. Fostering the fighting power of the actors is the\nkey to strengthening the MSME sector. *<\/p>\n\n\n\n
