The event was officially opened by the Head\nof Unpad International Relations Study Program, Dadan Suryadipura, S.IP., M.Ipol.,\nand Project Officer of 2019 PadMUN, Equilibrium Tampubolon, in Gedung Sate,\nBandung, Sunday (7\/4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the theme \u201cPersonalizing the International in a\nGlobalizing World\u201d, Equilibrium emphasized the interconnected challenges and\nopportunities that must be faced by the world. Additionally, the younger\ngeneration can also contribute towards the goal of a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe live in a time full of challenges and opportunities. A\ntime when we \u2014 the younger generation \u2014 have the capability to unite nations,\ncommunities and individuals. A time when we can gather together for one\npurpose,\u201d said Equilibrium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the series of the 2019 PadMUN events, the delegates\nacted as representatives of their assigned country in their respective\ncouncils. There were six councils in this year\u2019s PadMUN, namely the Crisis\nCommittee (CC), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Economic and\nSocial Council (ECOSOC), Africa Union (AU), United Nations Security Council\n(UNSC), and Press Corps (PC). The MUN conference was held at Crowne Plaza\nBandung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the event, all delegates are expected to be able to\nhone and demonstrate their ability to debate, be diplomatic, and negotiate to\nsolve problems and produce the best solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diplomats also attended to hold the 2019 PadMUN \u201cMeet the\nDiplomats\u201d (MTD) event, namely John Nickell (Head of Media and Communications of\nthe British Embassy to Indonesia), Lydia Trotter (First Secretary of Public\nDiplomacy of the Australian Embassy to Indonesia), Azis Nurwahyudi (Director of\nPublic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of\nIndonesia), and Melanie Martini-Mareel (Director of the Institut Fran\u00e7ais\nIndonesia or IFI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also present were Francyne Harrigan as Director of the\nUnited Nations Information Center (UNIC), and Dr. Dani Ramdan, MT. as the Head\nof the Government and Cooperation Bureau as a Representative from the\nGovernment of West Java Province to provide support for the implementation of 2019\nPadMUN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to MTD, PadMUN also offered other exclusive events,\nincluding \u201cMeet the Experts\u201d (MTE), and \u201cMUN Clinic\u201d. MTE is a forum for all\ndelegates to improve their understanding of a certain topic, discussing it\ndirectly with speakers who are experts in their fields.
