[unpad.ac.id, 3\/16\/2019] Universitas Padjadjaran established a cooperation with the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). The cooperation was marked by signing a Memorandum of Understanding by Unpad Chancellor, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, with the Head of BPOM RI, Dr. Penny Lukito, at the 60th Anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy Unpad at the Trans Luxury Hotel Ballroom Bandung, Saturday (3\/16).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof.\nTri Hanggono Achmad said that building a synergy of cooperation between stakeholders\nin the health sector is urgently needed. This sector is simply a challenge in\ndevelopment in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This\nis not only the responsibility of the (state) leader, but a joint\nresponsibility,” said Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Universities,\nsaid Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, are expected to carry out more capacity in\nproviding various innovations. Innovation is carried out to provide benefit for\nthe community. This collaboration with BPOM is expected to be able to implement\nvarious innovations that have been generated by Unpad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile,\nDr. Penny explained, cooperation with universities is specifically targeted to\nincrease the effectiveness of system supervision in building preventive\nattitudes in the community. In addition, BPOM encouraged Unpad to provide\nassistance to business actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“BPOM\nis a strategic partner for universities because what BPOM is running is in line\nwith the Tridharma (Three pillars of higher education system) activities\nconducted by universities,” said Dr. Penny while being a key speaker at\nthe event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\nthe field of pharmacy, BPOM itself carries out a number of activities involving\nuniversities and other strategic stakeholders. One of it is by forming a forum\nfor developing phytopharmaca<\/em> (Herbal medicines) consortiums, vaccines\nand biotechnology products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In\naddition to signing cooperation with BPOM, in the same occasion, Unpad also\ncooperated with three industries engaged in pharmacy and health, namely PT.\nBiofarma, PT. Pertamina Bina Medika-IHC, and PT. Indofarma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “I\nam grateful that these penta-helix concepts have begun to be applied. (This is)\nhow academics begin to interact strongly with the business sector, “said Prof.\nTri Hanggono Achmad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Becoming\nMore Preventive<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As\na pharmaceutical institution in Unpad that has just turned 60 years old, there\nhave been many positive achievements contributed by the Faculty of Pharmacy.\nThis contribution also encourages quality improvement from Unpad itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prof.\nTri Hanggono Achmad said, the Faculty of Pharmacy is a faculty that contributes\nthe most (to) international publications in Unpad. ” Many contributions to\nwelfare have been built in the academic aspects.
