Unpad\nRector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad said, the UTBK system has been developed in a\nvery exact and reliable manner. Various preparations and developments have been\ndone carefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“God\u2019s\nwill (Insha-Allah), this system is reliable because we don’t play around\ndeveloping it,” he said when he was interviewed in his office on Wednesday\n(3\/13).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nimplementation of UTBK itself has actually been carried out since 2016, as one\nof the methods in the SBMPTN. Every year, UTBK is opened with a scale of\nparticipants that has continuously been increased. For this year, the SBMPTN\nhas entirely used the UTBK method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\naddition, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad advised to exam participants to worry not\nabout the UTBK implementation being constrained by system or network problems. Trial\nof the UTBK system has been conducted simultaneously in all regions in\nIndonesia. As a result, this system has been running well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nstandards for implementing UTBK have also been developed strictly. This\nstandard will be applied in all UTBK operators in Indonesia. Thus, the quality\nof the UTBK system will be equal in each region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof.\nTri Hanggono Achmad explained that the UTBK method has more advantages compared\nto the written test method. The computer-based method developed by the\nIndonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education aims to make\nhigher education more appropriate for prospective students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To\nrealize this goal, the selection mechanism was developed more specifically. In\nprevious years UTBK was attended by participants who had registered for the\nSBMPTN. This year, participants must join UTBK first in order to get the\nresults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From\nthe results of UTBK, participants would later get a recommendation to choose a\nsuitable study program through the SBMPTN pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In\nthe past, we only knew (the students\u2019) competencies through psychological test\nin high school. Now, from the 2 types of tests available in UTBK, each test\nscore obtained by participants can be matched with the intended study program,\n“said the Chancellor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore,\ntwo types of tests in UTBK consist of a scholastic potential test and an\nacademic potential test. Each type of the test can determine participants’\ncompetencies towards the intended study program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every\nstudy program offered by each university on the SBMPTN already has its own\nweighting data. Participants just need to adjust the UTBK test results with the\nweight of the study program. This system is considered to be more encouraging for\nparticipants to really choose study programs that are in accordance with their\ncompetencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“For\nstudents, choosing a study program is important because it affects the path of\ntheir career in the future,” said Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof.\nTri Hanggono Achmad ensured that the questions tested in UTBK is in accordance\nwith materials that had been studied by students in high school. “We shall\nnot provide test material whose capacity is not owned by high school students,”\nhe remarked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\naddition, UTBK avoids participants from filling errors. Because it is\ntechnology based, participants do not have to bother blackening the answer\nsheet. This method is considered easier for participants to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UTBK\nregistration is opened in 2 waves. The first wave is from March 1 to March 24.\nWhile the second wave is from March 25 to April 1 2019. The registration can\ndone via the registration page-utbk.ltmpt.ac.id.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof.\nTri Hanggono Achmad revealed that unlike the previous UTBK which was held\nsimultaneously for one day, this year UTBK was held for several days. The UTBK\ntest for the first wave of registrants is conducted April 13 to May 4 2019.\nWhile the UTBK test for the second wave is held on May 11 to May 26, 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When\nregistering, participants are given the option to choose the test date and time\nof the exam which consists of a morning or afternoon session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants\nmay participate in UTBK a maximum of 2 times with the following conditions: registering\nonce for Saintek \u2018Science and Technology\u2019 (Grouping for faculties\/major choices\nin Indonesia) and then registering once for Soshum \u2018Social Sciences\u2019, and vice\nversa, or registering twice for the same group (Saintek\/Soshum). *<\/p>\n\n\n\n
