[unpad.ac.id, 12\/3\/2019] As one of the forms of service regarding psychological issues, the Universitas Padjadjaran Faculty of Psychology Team of Counseling Service and Guidance (TPBK) is present to serve the students\u2019 needs. This facility is available for all Unpad students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe TPBK service is available not only for Faculty of\nPsychology students, but also students from other faculties in Universitas\nPadjadjaran,\u201d told the Universitas Padjadjaran Vice Dean of the Faculty of\nPsychology, Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, S.Psi., MOP, Ph.D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the lecturer familiarly known as Rosie\nexplained that the Faculty of Psychology\u2019s TPBK has two purposes: helping Unpad\nstudents who are troubled psychologically and also as a place for Faculty of\nPsychology students to learn how to face cases with supervision from lecturers\nwho are also psychologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Unpad\u2019s Faculty of Psychology\u2019s TPBK, the case will be\ndistinguished into two; personal and academic problems. For the academic\nproblems, the team who will handle it are lecturers and students from\nPsychology Profession major with concentration in Education Psychology.\nMeanwhile, for personal problems will be handled by lecturers and students Psychology\nProfession major with concentration in Adult Clinical Psychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFrom the notes in TPBK, there are more [students with]\npersonal problems than academic problems that may impact their academics,\u201d said\nRosie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some psychological problems faced by students are prolonged\nstress, self-harm, broken home, heart break, anxiety, speaking issues, feeling\nhopelessness, excessive sadness, depression, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere are various psychological problems that can be faced\nby students. The students need to have a positive social support, whether from\nfamily, friend, lecturer, or a professional counselor. The right support will\nhelp someone overcome stress caused by the problems they\u2019re facing,\u201d Rosie\nremarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For students who would like to use this service, they must\nregister by coming directly to the Faculty of Psychology\u2019s TPBK. After\nregistration, the students will be given a schedule to do counseling with the\nteam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In serving the students, the TPBK team usually schedules\nseveral sessions, including interview, psychological evaluation, consultation,\nand therapy that is adjusted to the clients\u2019 condition. The handling of each\ncase is different according to problems they are facing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In handling certain cases, students can also be directed to\nthe Universitas Padjadjaran Bureau of Psychological Service and Innovation\n(BPIP). Other than that, for cases that need psychiatric handling, the team can\nalso direct them to a psychiatrist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lecturers from Unpad\u2019s Faculty of Psychology handle not only\nstudents\u2019 psychological problem, but also give counseling training to guidance\nlecturer from some faculties in Unpad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rosie also suggest to the students with psychological\nproblems to communicate with their guidance lecturer or their head of\ndepartment. If it cannot be handled by the faculty, the student can go to\nFaculty of Psychology\u2019s TPBK or BPIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are open to all Unpad students who would like to have a\nconsultation. But students are suggested to talk with their guidance lecturer\nfirst or either to their department head,\u201d said Rosie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
