\u201cSeize\nthe opportunity. Take whatever\nopportunity that is available,\u201c said Hendra in the\nStudium Generale titled \u201cBuilding\nOrganization Capability for the Next Generation\u201d held at Bale Sawala, Jatinangor campus Unpad Rector Building, Tuesday (12\/3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hendra stated that it\nis a universal challenge to be able to ensure that more and more people are\nable to benefit from the existence of the Industry 4.0 Era. Although there will\nbe many job losses, on the other hand, there will also be an abundance of job creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt’s\nall up to us.\nIt is we who determine the future. Starting from now,\u201d said Hendra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the necessary skills that the millennial generation\nneeds in the era of Industry 4.0 is the ability to think critically. Not just a mere critics, but\npositive critical thinking. It is\ndifficult to replace this ability with technological\ndevelopments. This ability will also encourage creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, Hendra also encouraged the\nmillennial generation to innovate. Hendra expressed that innovations will be created if one has intrinsic motivation\n(internal motivation) rather than extrinsic motivation (external motivation). If\none only has extrinsic\nmotivation, then it will be\narduous to trigger creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen\nyou increase\nyour capabilities, intrinsic\nmotivation is what is needed to be creative,\u201d Hendra said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In relation to building organizational capabilities, Hendra explained that there are three elements which need to be considered, namely employee mindset, employee competencies, and employee governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first element refers to the mindset that is needed according to the type of organization being built. The second element concerns what kind of competencies that need to be built in order for\nan organization to have competitiveness. The third element refers to what\nkind of management needs to be built in order to run an organization\neffectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“[For] any organization, regardless of its size,\nincluding start up companies, these three elements are the important elements needed in order to ensure that the\norganization you build has capability,” said Hendra. *<\/p>\n\n\n\n
