Unpad Provides 2,766 Students with Quota for Internet Access

[unpad.ac.id, 2/4/2020] Universitas Padjadjaran has provided assistance to students to support online learning activities during the Coronavirus pandemic. 2,766 students received internet quota assistance from Unpad. The Unpad Director of Finance and Treasury, Edi Jaenudin, M.Si., Ak., explained that the recipients were students on Bidikmisi and the Higher Education Affirmation Program (Adik) scholarships.

Based on results of monitoring the current online learning period implemented by Unpad, the students receiving Bidikmisi and Adik were the ones who most needed help in order to be able to carry out learning activities.

Every eligible student would be given Rp 200,000 in two installments of Rp 100,000. Assistance will be directly paid to the operator based on the mobile phone number of each student. Edi acknowledged that the nominal value of Rp 100,000 would give varying quota values for each cellular operator. Therefore, he hoped for the cellular operators’ support to provide the best internet quota package for students.

In the future, the internet quota assistance program will also be expanded to other students. Unpad is also in the process of collaborating with various telecommunications operators to reduce the burden on all Unpad academics’ internet quotas.
