[unpad.ac.id, 24/9/2020] Universitas Padjadjaran, through its Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology (FTIP Unpad) Laboratory of Testing Services, was chosen to be one of the supervisor universities for the 2020 Pranata Laboratorium Pendidikan (PLP) internship. Unpad was chosen by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, as a supervisor for the PLP internship in the Agroindustry field.
The internship at Unpad will be attended by 15 participants who are PLP in the Agroindustry field from various universities in Indonesia. This activity will take place in the near future for a period of two months. The implementation of the internship itself will be using the online method.
Head of the FTIP Unpad Laboratory of Testing Services, Indira Lanti K, M.Si., revealed the readiness of the lab in carrying out these activities. The laboratory itself is ISO 17025: 2017 certified and has competent human resources.
“It is hoped that with this program, Unpad, especially the FTIP Unpad Laboratory of Testing Services, will be more known as an agro industrial product analysis lab and continue to develop to become better in the application of lab quality management systems,” said Indira when contacted by the Unpad Public Communication Office (KKP), on Friday (25/9).
In addition, the PLP staff and the Technical Manager at the FTIP Laboratory of Test Services, Tia Amina Setiawati, M.Si, explained that the implementation of the internship has been determined by the Directorate of Higher Education with reference to the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) concept, in order to have a synergistic organizational relationship between the curriculums.
“The curriculum is intended to increase knowledge of the PLP in the field of QMS lab,” said Tia.
Activities are divided into six aspects: aspect of managing/planning of lab activities, aspect of processing/operation of lab activities, aspect of evaluation/monitoring of lab activities, aspect of improvement/development of lab activities, aspect of professional development, and aspect of enrichment in the form of introduction to global improvement.
“Global improvement is the lab that could predict future developments based on existing threats, challenges, disturbances, and obstacles. For example, the establishment of a Laboratory of Testing Services stems from a request to a research lab for the community’s need for a lab analysis for food products, so that the lab will become independent and sustainable,” added Indira.
The speakers in the internship program consist of lecturers and PLP staff at FTIP Unpad, assisted by a number of lecturers and PLP staff from the Unpad Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
This year, there are nine universities that passed the selection and were appointed as the supervisor of the PLP internship by the Directorate General of Higher Education. The supervisor universities and interns are selected based on predefined clusters of the internship fields, including Agroindustry, Physics/Mechanics, Health/Biology/Molecular Biology/Immunology, and Chemistry/Environment.
