[unpad.ac.id, 21/09/2020] A total of 23 participants took part in the Cloud Computing training of the Fresh Graduate Academy Digital Talent Scholarship (FGA DTS) program at Unpad. The activity, which was held in collaboration between the Unpad Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA Unpad) and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, was held online from Monday (21/9) to 27 October 2020.

The Chief Executive of the Unpad FGA Digital Talent Scholarship, as well as the Head of the Department of Computer Science FMIPA Unpad, Dr. Setiawan Hadi, M.Sc.CS said that this activity was an effort to improve the capabilities of Indonesia’s human resources.

By holding this activity, it is hoped that the participants will have a strong motivation to gain more knowledge and be able to develop themselves for an advanced Indonesia.

“This is one of the efforts to build Indonesian human resources which are expected to improve every day,” said Dr. Setiawan, in the opening of the Unpad FGA Digital Talent Scholarship, Monday (21/9).

Dr. Setiawan also hopes that this activity can provide many benefits for the participants. The participants were also asked to prepare themselves well in order to participate in this activity optimally.

“So that in 35 sessions you will get maximum results, which of course will be very beneficial for your life,” said Dr. Setiawan.

Meanwhile, the Manager of Research, Community Service, Innovation, and Cooperation of FMIPA Unpad, Dr. Nursanti Anggraini said that in the digital era, graduates need to have optimal knowledge and abilities, especially regarding technology.

“From this activity, the participants are expected to improve their soft skills and increase their knowledge of technology,” said Dr. Nursanti.

This activity itself was initially planned to be held on July and August at the Unpad Jatinangor campus. However, given the pandemic situation, this activity was then carried out online from September to October.

“I am sure that even though this activity is carried out online, the objectives of the activity can still be achieved,” said Dr. Nursanti

The training itself will teach participants about cloud computing – including material on the introduction of cloud computing, its infrastructure, security, computation, storage, and network services.

In this training, participants will also gain knowledge about the automation process, how to design a cloud, perform data migration, and other abilities using the tools provided.

This activity was attended by 23 participants from West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten. Participants are fresh graduates from various universities in Indonesia.

Acting as instructors in this training were FMIPA Unpad Information Technology lecturers, namely Dr. Asep Sholahuddin, MT, Aditya Pradana, S.T., M.Eng, and Deni Setiana, M.Sc.CS. (arm)*
