LPDP Scholarship for Master & Doctoral Program

Brief Description

LPDP is an Indonesian-government supported scholarship for those who want to take a chance to study abroad. This year, LPDP offers two kinds of scholarships.

Perguruan Tinggi Peringkat Utama Dunia (PTUD) Scholarship, this scholarship is for Indonesian students who already received an unconditional LoA letter for a master’s or doctoral degree from selected world top universities.

Beasiswa Pendidikan (BPI), this scholarship is given to teachers and lecturers in public schools/universities. They must have a  Nomor Unik Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan (NUPTK) or Nomor Induk Dosen Nasional (NIDN) to apply.

The scholarship provides tuition fees, academic expenses per semester, books allowances, thesis or dissertation expenses, international seminar expenses, journal publication expenses, transportation, visa, monthly expenses, et cetera.

PTUD Scholarship

PTUD Scholarship accepts students who are looking to earn a Master’s degree (single degree) with an estimated (max.) 24 months of studying and a Doctoral program (single degree) with an estimated (max.) 60 months of studying.

Required Documents & Eligibility for PTUD Scholarship:
  • Max. 35 years old for the Master program and 40 years old for the Doctoral program
  • Students are unable to switch course and university
  • Personal Data
  • Residence identification card
  • Diploma 
  • Academic transcript 
  • English proficiency certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Academic)

Master program: Minimum score of IELTS 6.5/TOEFL iBT 80/PTE Academic 58

Doctoral program: Minimum score of IELTS 7.0/TOEFL iBT 94/PTE Academic 65

  • Unconditional LoA letter (compulsory)
  • Two recommendation letters from academician
  • Selection permit (for those who are employed)
  • Personal statement
  • Study plan (Master program) or Research proposal (Doctoral program)
  • Commitment letter to work in and contribute to Indonesia
  • Other legal documents provided by LPDP
  • Willing to sign required documents from LPDP
  • Uploading a letter of statement which includes a postponed notice for students who apply for the 2021 PTUD scholarship yet received an unconditional LoA letter for the academic year 2020

BPI Scholarship

BPI offers the same opportunity as the PTUD scholarship. However, students are only allowed to choose one university, one course, and one unconditional LoA for said university. The scholarship offers a maximum of 24 months of study for a Master’s program (single degree) and a maximum of 36 months of study for a Doctoral program (single degree).
Required documents & Eligibility for BPI Scholarship:
  • Max. 40 years old for the Master program and 47 years old for the Doctoral program
  • Students are unable to switch course and university
  • Personal data
  • Residence identification card
  • Permit letter from Dean of University for lecturers (compulsory)
  • Permit letter from the principal for teachers (compulsory)
  • Diploma

Master program: min. GPA of 3.0

Doctoral program: min. GPA of 3.2

Doctoral program without a GPA system: applicants obligated to give a letter of statement from the university

  • English proficiency certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Academic)

Master program: Minimum score of IELTS 5.0/ TOEFL IBT 45/ PTE Academic 36

Doctoral program: Minimum score of IELTS 6.0/ TOEFL IBT 61/ PTE Academic 50

  • Unconditional LoA letter (compulsory)
  • Two recommendations letter from academician
  • Personal statement
  • Commitment letter to work and contribute to Indonesia
  • Study plan (Master program) or Research proposal (Doctoral program)
  • Other legal documents provided by LPDP
  • Willing to sign required documents from LPDP
  • Uploading a letter of statement which includes a postponed notice for students who apply for the 2021 BPI scholarship yet received an unconditional LoA letter for the academic year 2020
