Maastricht University Holland-High Potential Scholarship

The Maastricht University (UM) Holland-High Potential Scholarship is a program consisting of a High Potential Scholarship (funded by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund) and Holland Scholarship (funded by Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science). This program offers 24 full scholarships for students from outside of the European Union (EU) to study the Master’s program at Maastricht University.

 

Eligibilities
  • Students hold nationality outside the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) countries and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
  • Students do not hold a double nationality from EU/EEA countries.
  • Applied for admission to a full-time Master’s program at Maastricht University for the 2021-2022 academic year.
  • Met the specific admission requirements of the UM Master’s program to which students have applied.
  • Never participated in a degree-seeking higher education program in the Netherlands. Students who completed exchange programs in the Netherlands are welcome to apply.
  • Not over 35 years of age on 1 September 2021.
  • Obtained excellent results during prior education programs, demonstrated with the latest grade transcript or certified by academic excellence.

 

Scholarship Duration
  • 13 months for a one-year Master’s program
  • 25 months for a two-year Master’s program

Living expenses € 11,400 (12 months)

Tuition fees € 13,800; € 15,500; or € 16,800

Application procedure
  1. Register for one of the participating Master’s programs at Maastricht University via Studielink.nl, in which you will receive a student ID number to complete the application form afterward.
  2. Fill in the application form, upload the required documents below, and submit the application online.
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Letter of motivation
  • Proof of academic excellence
  • Contact details of one referee*

3. Ask the referee to submit their reference letter** by midnight on 1 February 2021 (CET) to [email protected]

*Referees must be (former) professors, lecturers, or employers, and not family members.

**Reference letters should be dated and written no earlier than February 2020.
