[unpad.ac.id, 09/09/2020] Communication expert and national motivational speaker Dr. Aqua Dwipayana said that synergy between lecturers, staff, students, and alumni is the key to advancing Unpad into becoming one of the world’s top 500 universities.
The statement was conveyed by Dwipayana when he presented as the keynote speaker in Webinar Series #4 of Unpad’s 63rd Anniversary, “Learning and Growth: Establishing Excellent Human Resources for Unpad’s Top 500 World Rank” on Wednesday (9/9). Lecturers, staff, students, and alumni are great assets that can be optimized. If properly utilized, Dwipayana is optimistic that these assets could significantly boost Unpad’s performance.
“The target to enter the world’s top 500 is possible as long as there is commitment from everyone involved,” Dwipayana said.
The alumnus of the Unpad Faculty of Communication Science explained that one of the most important assets that can be optimized is alumni. Currently, Unpad has around 200 thousand alumni, which will be a great potential if Unpad is able to work on it optimally.
“When it comes to excellent human resources, Unpad has extraordinary human capital assets. Now what remains is how to make it happen; how can there be a role model in every faculty that others can consistently imitate,” he said.
To optimize this potential, one of the things that should be capitalized is communication. Dwipayana stated Unpad must strengthen its communication abilities, especially ones at the internal level.
Good communication abilities are one of the contributing factors for excellent human resources. In addition, the human resources of Unpad also must possess integrity, resourcefulness, responsibility, and wisdom.
Welcoming Unpad’s 63rd anniversary on September 11, Dwipayana hoped that the day would turn into momentum to raise Unpad into the world’s top 500 rank. Thus, this moment must be optimized by all Unpad residents.
“All of us should give our best for Unpad,” Dwipayana said.
This webinar was officially opened by Unpad Rector Prof. Rina Indiastuti. In her welcoming speech, the Rector said that the webinar was expected to encourage the lecturers, staff, students, and alumni of Unpad to move fast in order to face global challenges and changes.
The Rector remarked that Unpad continues to record good academic performance and reputation every year. That being said, the record of this performance is still quite unstable.
It is hoped that this webinar could create a number of strategies to accelerate the development of Unpad’s performance, especially through increasing the capabilities of its human resources.
“Human resources is Unpad’s most valuable asset to become a university that is acknowledged at the world level,” Rector stated.
This webinar, moderated by the Director of Human Resources Aulia Iskandarsyah, PhD, presented a number of speakers, including the Dean of Faculty of Psychology Prof. Hendriati Agustiani, the Dean of Faculty of Nursing Henny Suzana Meidiani, PhD, the Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Dr. R. Widya Setiabudi Sumadinata, and the Dean of Faculty of Communication Science Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat. *
