Universitas Padjadjaran has started to gradually cut down on face-to-face lectures, replacing them with online-based lectures. This was done in anticipation of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
This policy is in line with the Government’s call to roll out distance learning methods at universities as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Based on a Circular No. 627/UN6.RKT/TU/2020 from the Rector, Unpad will begin to implement online lecturing methods starting from Wednesday (18/3).
Head of the Unpad Teaching and Learning Innovation Center Anne Nurbaity, PhD, explained that her staff, through the Unpad e-learning service team, was ready to facilitate online lectures.
Unpad freed lecturers to hold online lectures according to their abilities, needs and preferences. Lectures via email, social media, or even podcasts are allowed as long as an agreement has been made with the students.
Practicals, final assignment advising, as well as thesis defenses are gradually being replaced by non-face-to-face activities. However, Professional program learning – especially those related to patients – will continue to run, observing the Universal Precaution principle as stated in the Health Protocol.
