[unpad.ac.id, 22/10/2020] The Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) of the Universitas Padjadjaran region held an online discussion entitled “E-Tea Time with Ambassador” on Friday (16/10).
This event is an annual activity of FPCI Unpad which is carried out by presenting ambassadors from foreign countries in Indonesia to discuss international issues and foreign policy. This year, the discussion presented the Ambassador of New Zealand to Indonesia Jonathan Austin.
“The event which was held during this pandemic raised a theme that is relevant to the current situation, namely the relationship between Indonesia and New Zealand during the COVID-19 pandemic,” wrote the chief executive of the activity, Almaas Rahmawati Putri.
In the online discussion which was attended by 400 participants, Jonathan Austin introduced a glimpse of New Zealand and how the diplomatic relationship is between Indonesia and New Zealand.
Jonathan Austin also explained many things starting from the regulation until the media role of New Zealand in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. He considered that cooperation between the government and the community in creating effective action was the key to dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
At the end of the discussion, Jonathan Austin admitted that he was happy to have the opportunity to share knowledge and discussion with the participants, although it was limited through virtual media. (arm)*
