[unpad.ac.id, 30/3/2020] A team of Law students from Universitas Padjadjaran participated in the 17th Annual Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot from March 20-29. Initially, this competition was to be held at City University Hong Kong. However, it was moved online following the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak (COVID-19).
The competition is a pseudo judicial competition in the field of international private law. The aim is to introduce the United Nations Convention on Contract for International Sales of Goods (CISG) world bodies that have been used by several developed countries, such as the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
This year, the Unpad delegation consisted of Jovanka Lingkanaya (head of the delegation) Hafidz Admiral Botua, Gilbert William David Sitorus, Mohamad Rafi Andiansyah, Elizabeth Calista Nawangsari, Ribqha Claudya, and Carrens Leuwinsky Cahaya Persada as the Official Team. The delegation met with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Respondent), Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (Claimant), Central China Normal University (Claimant), and University of Sao Paulo Largo San Francisco (Respondent).
In this event, the Unpad team won second place overall and won the Best Oralist Award. This award was won by Mohamad Rafi Andiansyah.
