They are Alfi Nur Afifah and Dzaka Ali Saiful Husna, with supervisors, Dr. Ir. Emi Sukiyah, MT., Dr. Ir. Dewi Gentana, Dipl. Geothermal, M.M., and Adi Hardiyono, S.T., M.T.

In the competition, participants were asked to make a model using the Micromine application based on the data provided. The modeling results made by the team were presented before the jury and observers from Micromine.

“We are asked to model the data. The main thing is we model the gold ore body, “said Dzaka when met at the FTG Unpad campus on Thursday (8/5).

FTG Unpad itself sent five teams to compete in the event. Each team consisted of two people. Of the five Unpad teams that took part in the initial selection, Alfi and Dzaka were declared to be finalists to compete in Yogyakarta.

Micromine itself is an application commonly used in the world of mining, especially in mineral exploration. Unpad is one of the universities that has received an academic license from Micromine. Thus, Unpad students, especially from FTG, have used this application to support learning activities.

“This software is important in the mining world. One of the fields of work of Geology alumni is in the mining world. So if he has Micromine competency, it can be one of the advantages. Moreover (if the accomplishment is) accompanied by a certificate or by being participant in a competition,” said Dr. Emi.

With the achievement, Alfi, Dzaka, and the supervisors hoped that in the future Unpad could improve its achievements with better preparation. In addition, they also hope that more Unpad students can explore the Micromine application.

“Hopefully, we can optimize the use of this application,” added Adi Hardiyono. *
