[unpad.ac.id, 6/3/2019] The Universitas Padjadjaran Center for Environment and Sustainability Sciences (Unpad CESS) conducted a training session titled “Basics of Environmental Impact Assessment for Pangandaran Regency Government Agencies” which was held at Malabar Hotel, Pangandaran, March 4-7 2019.
This activity is a manifestation of Unpad’s commitment to regional development in Pangandaran Regency, especially in developing the human resource capacity at regional government agencies (SKPD).
Training was held to prepare human resources in the field of environmental management. This is needed to anticipate rapid development in Pangandaran.
This training was attended by a number of SKPD representatives from the Pangandaran Regency Government. Speakers during the training consisted of Unpad academics as well as speakers from the West Java Provincial Government.
In the release received by the Unpad Public Communication Office, this training is expected to increase the capacity of Pangandaran Regency government agencies in implementing environmentally sound development. This takes into consideration the fact that Pangandaran has become an international-class tourist destination that maintains the quality of its environment.
Unpad CESS also hopes that this training can spread to other sectors, one of which is training regarding the preparation and evaluation of environmental impact assessments, so that the agencies are more capable of supervising development in the Pangandaran region. *
