[unpad.ac.id, 1/4/2019] Starting on April 10, 2019, there will be a change in the regulation for vehicle access to Universitas Padjadjaran campus in Jatinangor. This change is made to support the ease of entry and exit to and from Jatinangor campus.

“(There will be trial) from the 10th until the end of April,” said Head of the Unpad Environmental Management Office, Dr. Teguh Husodo, M.Sc. when interviewed in his office on Monday (1/4).

Dr. Teguh explained, starting April 10, 2019, at 05.00 to 20.00 WIB, the South Gate (Old Gate) of Universitas Padjadjaran Jatinangor is going to be used only by pedestrians. The gate would then be closed for vehicles.

Two-wheeled vehicles are required to enter through Unpad West Gate (near BNI Bank and Mandiri Bank) and four-wheeled vehicles are required to enter through the Unpad Bridge Gate. The North Gate of Unpad is only intended for six-wheeled vehicles or more.

“After 20.00 WIB until 04:59 WIB, the South Gate (will be) the entrance and exit gate. (This is to ensure the) one door (system), “said Dr. Teguh.

Dr. Teguh said the change was a response to the appeal of the Sumedang District Transportation Agency regarding the arrangement of traffic in Unpad gate area. In addition, this new regulation is also to re-optimize Unpad bridge facilities.

“With this optimization, we hope we can help in reducing traffic congestion as well,” he hoped.

Dr. Teguh also said, in addition to ensure traffic orderliness, the arrangement also aims to support the security system in the campus environment. It is expected that focusing on the gate function can improve security on Unpad campus.

“It (is also intended to be) focused on facilitating security arrangements later on,” he said.

To ensure the ease of publication and implementation, a number of coordination has been carried out with various parties on and off the campus. The coordination was carried out with Muspika Jatinangor and the Transportation Office of Sumedang Regency.

During the trial period, there will also be evaluations. Dr. Teguh also opened opportunities for various parties who would be willing to give feedback regarding the new arrangement. Critics and suggestion can be submitted via e-mail to www.uptlingkungan@unpad.ac.id

“We are open to feedback. So that later we can revise whatever we have to improve in the future, “said Dr.Teguh *
