Saturday (5/10).

In the release received by Unpad Public Communication Office, various seeds from refugia plants such as marry gold, zinnia, and bougainvillea were planted in the village of Cileles.

This is based on the characteristics of the planting system in Cileles that is semi-organic, so that refugia plants are considered appropriate for controlling pest organisms in accordance with the application of integrated pest control (IPM), especially in paddy plant. Refugia plants are being used to invite natural enemies for pests. Attracting flower organs and sufficient pollen content can be utilized to invite the arrival of parasitoids and predators.

“These two natural enemies are expected to be able to control the damaging pests on paddy plant,” said one of the Klintan Mengabdi committees, Rima Rahmawati. Through this planting program, the villagers hope that this activity can continue with sustainable assistance. *
