Ready to Perform in the Philippines and Italy, Unpad Choir Will Hold a Pre-Competition Concert

[unpad.ac.id, 18/6/2019] The Student Choir (PSM) of Universitas Padjadjaran will represent Indonesia in world-level choir competition. There are two world-level competitions which PSM Unpad will take part in, “1st Asia Choral Grand Prix” in the Philippines in July and “67th International Choral Competition Polifonico ‘Guido d’Arezzo’” in Italy, this coming August.

At these two competitions, PSM Unpad brought up the name “Indonesia Kirana”. “Indonesia Kirana” is a movement started by PSM Unpad in 2015 as an attempt initiated by the young generation to achieve feats in the arts, especially choir. On that basis, when competing in Italy, PSM Unpad will also hold a cultural concert to introduce various Indonesian cultures.

Before competing, PSM Unpad will also hold a pre-competition concert themed “Pagelaran Indonesia Kirana 2019” in Graha Swara Universitas Tarumanegara, Jakarta, in June 30th, as well in Grha Sanusi Harjadinata Unpad, Dipati Ukur street No. 35, Bandung, on July 3rd.

In the release received by Unpad Public Communication Office, it is explained that the “Indonesia Kirana” movement was started in the competition “13th International Choral Competition Gallus-Maribor” in Slovenia as well as a cultural concert in Hungary. Starting from their story during their time in Slovenia and Hungary, PSM Unpad created the movie “Indonesia Kirana” in 2016 to inspire the young generation in Indonesia to create art and achieve more for the country.
