The Ministry of Education and Culture through the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (Lembaga Tes Masuk Perguruan Tinggi, LTMPT) officially launches the 2020 State University Student Admission System at the Ministry of Education and Culture’s office, Jakarta, Friday (15/11).
The new State University (PTN) student admission system for 2020 is implemented through three channels, namely the National Selection for State University Entrance (Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri, SNMPTN) with a minimum quota of 20% of the capacity of PTN, Joint Selection for State University Entrance (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri, SBMPTN) with a minimum quota of 40%, and independent selection with a maximum quota of 30%.
In the release received by the Office of Public Communications, there are several new things related to the implementation of the SNMPTN 2020, including the ranking of students in the School and Student Database (PDSS) conducted by schools. Also, the number of students included in the ranking is following the provisions of the school accreditation quota, namely: schools with an A accreditation get 40%, schools with B accreditation get 25%, and C and below accreditation get 5%.
For the implementation of Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK), the implementation time lasts for one week with 14 exam sessions (one day two exam sessions). The implementation of the UTBK was held at 74 Centers of UTBK PTN. UTBK participants themselves are only allowed to take one test following the test group they are taking (Science and Technology, Social, Humanities, and Mixed).
The 2020 UTBK results only apply to the admission of new students for the academic year 2020/2021 and the results will be given to participants individually.” The 2020 UTBK results can also be used by PTN in the implementation of new student admissions through the independent selection path,” said Chairman of the LTMPT Prof. Ravik Karsidi.
Another important thing for potential participants to know is that the Single Sign On (SSO) policy will be implemented, which is the initial stage of SNMPTN, UTBK and SBMPTN registration in 2020. Each participant is required to have an LTMPT account by registering through the https://portal.ltmpt.ac.id.
The time frame for registering an LTMPT account is divided into two. The PDSS and SNMPTN will be held from 2 December 2019 to 7 January 2020. While the registration of LTMPT accounts for UTBK and SBMPTN will be conducted from 7 February to 5 April 2020.
Prof. Ravik explained that the time frame for the implementation of SNMPTN consists of: LTMPTN account registration 2 December 2019 – 7 January 2020; filling PDSS and ranking students by school 13 January – 6 February 2020; SNMPTN registration 11 February – 25 February 2020; and SNMPTN announcement on April 4, 2020.
While the UTBK itself consists of: LTMPT account registration February 7 – April 5 2020; UTBK registration 30 March – 11 April 2020; implementation of UTBK 20 – 26 April 2020; and the UTBK announcement is scheduled for May 12, 2020. The SBMPTN implementation time consists of registration June 2 – 13, 2020 and announced on June 30, 2020.*
