[unpad.ac.id, 04/15/2019] The Television and Film Study Program of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, held a public lecture on “Problematika Perfilman Indonesia” (Issues of Indonesian Cinema) at the Unpad Faculty of Communication Sciences Postgraduate Auditorium on Thursday (11/4). The event was held to commemorate National Film Day which falls every March 30, 2019.
“Record what you have in mind about Indonesia,” conveyed senior Indonesian filmmaker Slamet Rahardjo to young filmmakers.
Along with Slamet Rahardjo, the event also featured speakers Dian Srinursih (Head of Licensing and Management of Pusbangfilm) and Eddy D. Iskandar (Head of the Bandung Film Forum). Several issues faced by cinema in Indonesia were addressed through discussion and a question and answer session between the audience and the speakers, guided by moderator Dr. Aceng Abdullah, MSi (Head of the Television and Film Study Program).
With the holding of the event, Dr. Aceng hopes that Unpad Faculty of Communication Sciences students can gain insight into Indonesian cinema. Students are also expected to get inspiration, experience, and new knowledge about the condition of cinema in Indonesia. *
