[unpad.ac.id, 24/4/2019] Facing the industrial 4.0 era, strengthening human resources is an important thing to do. In order to achieve good organizational development, it is also necessary to implement good talent management.
“(Regarding) talent management output, obviously we expect to be able to get high integrity human resources. We expect to get highly performing and competent human resources, who have the spirit to develop themselves, and have readiness to undergo change,” said the Head of the Human Resources Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Ari Hendrarto Saleh, S.E, M.Sc.
Ari conveyed this during his speech as a keynote speaker at the National Seminar, 2019 Civil Service Conference held at Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad, Dipati Ukur 35, Bandung, Wednesday (24/4) and Thursday (25/4). The event was officially opened by Unpad Deputy Chancellor for Finance and Resources, Prof. Arief Sjamsulaksan Kartasasmita, Dr., Sp.M (K), M. Kes., PhD.
Ari said, with talent management, organizations are expected to have human resources with the character “4C3S”, consisting of critical thinking skills, creative (creativity), communicative (communication), collaboration (collaboration), smart (smart), firm (solid), and agile (speed).
Ari also explained, there are three main processes that occur in talent management. First, look for and attract the best human resources that have the potential, competence, and commitment to work for the company.
The second is about efforts to develop the best potential employees, both newly joined and existing in the company. Third, develop and preserve the best employees that already exist in the company.
Human resources management in organizations are usually only carried out by division or staffing. In the future, all leadership lines need to play a role. According to Ari, echelon I and II officials need to play a role in getting talented people for the development of the organization.
“So the responsibility is not only focused on the human resources (HR) bureau or the HR department or whatever it is called,” he said.
