[unpad.ac.id, 02/05/2019] Acting Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Rina Indiastuti, inaugurated 1,797 graduates in Round III of the Universitas Padjadjaran Graduation Ceremony for the 2018/2019 Academic year. Graduation was held in three sessions at Graha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung, Thursday (2/5) to Friday (3/5).

Prof. Rina said that the Round III graduation has always been a special graduation event, because it is held annually during early May, which coincides with the commemoration of National Education Day.
This makes the graduation ceremony not only the inauguration or commencement event for the success of someone completing their education. The important thing is, graduation is the right moment to reflect on and evaluate the performance of Universitas Padjadjaran as a leading institute of higher education in Indonesia.
“This reflection process should be an accurate source of data to refine our work program and increase the acceleration of our performance in the future,” said Prof. Rina.
In this year’s National Education Day commemoration sub-theme, one of the strong elements is to create human resources with character. To face the complexity of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution era and Society 5.0, not only do we need need intelligent humans, but people who have magnanimity and conscience.
Therefore, continued Prof. Rina, while following the three pillars of higher education, Unpad has to consistently adhere to the Unpad Principal Scientific Pattern, “Prominent Law and Environment in National Development,” which is the brainchild of Prof. Dr. Mochtar Kusumaatmadja, Prof. Dr. Ir. Otto Soemarwoto, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Didi Atmadilaga that has become the distinctive characteristic and academic strength of Unpad.
In addition, the transformation of the education system in the form of curricular, extracurricular and co-curricular activities carried out by Unpad is also always based on the noble values of Sundanese culture and Unpad’s organizational culture, namely “Responsible, Excellent, Scientific rigor, Professional, Encouraging, Creative and Trust” (RESPECT) which was announced in 2009.
“The Principal Scientific Pattern and RESPECT Organizational culture must become the DNA and characteristic of Unpad academics and Unpad graduates wherever they go and wherever they work,” said Prof. Rina.
