[unpad.ac.id, 3/5/2019] A total of 75 librarians from Universitas Padjadjaran participated in technical training in Library Management for the Functional Position of Expert and Skilled Librarians held by the Directorate of Human Resources of Unpad in the Lecture Room of the Faculty of Law Unpad Building, Dipati Ukur 35, Bandung, 4 – 18 March 2019.
Technical training held by Unpad in cooperation with the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia is one of the competency requirements that must be fulfilled by the librarian’s functional position through an in-passing process.
Chairperson of the training committee, Yulianti, M.I.Kom., said that the activity was held in order to accelerate the increase in librarian capacity. Previously, Unpad had organized internal training three times.
“The number of participants participating in the library management technical training program consisted of 53 advanced and skilled librarians as well as 22 expert librarian participants,” Yulianti said in a release received by the Unpad Public Communication Office.
The teaching and training lecturers involved lecturers of the Information Science and Library Study Program at the Faculty of Communication of Unpad and the National Library of Indonesia. The materials given will be about the development of collections, descriptive cataloging, library automation, library promotion and maintenance. These materials are the basic materials in library management.
Director of Unpad Academic and Library Resources, Dr. Teuku Yan W. Muda Iskandarsyah, ST., MT., hopes that Unpad librarians can implement the results of the training in their place of work.
