62nd Dies Natalis, Unpad’s Momentum on the World Stage

Since it was established as a tertiary institution on September 11, 1957, Unpad has had a noble goal, namely, to expand the opportunities of the community to pursue higher education in order to participate in developing the intellectual life of the nation and advancing public welfare.

“On this occasion, together we are reflecting on various efforts and performance that we have done to produce leaders in the future that will bring Indonesia to become a superior, strong, just and prosperous country, and with global competitiveness,” said the Acting Rector of Unpad, Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, S.E., M.SIE. in commemoration of Unpad’s 62nd Dies Natalis at Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung, Wednesday (11/9).

At the commemoration of the 62nd Dies Natalis, the theme that was carried was “Padjadjaran University on the World Stage”. Thus, the entire series of commemoration activities for the Anniversary was focused on strengthening Unpad’s role and real work and strengthening synergies in the internal to international sphere in strengthening positive influence on people’s welfare.

Furthermore Prof. Rina said, in line with the government’s commitment to focus on developing superior human resources, it became the spirit as well as the challenge to strengthen the quality of Unpad’s innovation. According to Prof. Rina, in addition to producing world-class superior human resources, university innovation was also carried out by downstreaming research results for the problems of the Indonesian people, especially West Java.

“In the current era of disruption, innovation has become a necessity if we do not want to be left behind with the various advances and demands of the rapidly changing era. Unpad is expected to be the actor and leader of the change, “said Prof. Rina.

On this occasion, Prof. Rina also invited all Unpad academics to always respect and continue the struggle of the founders of Unpad who have planted milestones and characteristics from Universitas Padjadjaran.

“Together we realize that the implementation of the tridharma of higher education in Unpad will never be separated from the Basic Scientific Pattern of Unpad that was initiated by our previous teachers namely Prof. Mochtar Kusumaatmadja, Prof. Otto Soemarwoto, and Prof. Didi Atmadilaga with his formula that reads ‘The noble development of law and the environment in national development’ which is the identity and excellence of Unpad, “said Prof. Rina.

This year, Prof. Mochtar Kusumaatmadja celebrated his 90th birthday. In this Dies Natalis commemoration, Unpad also gave an appreciation in the form of a lifetime achievement award for all the services of Prof. Mochtar to Unpad. The award was symbolically given by Prof. Rina to the Dean of the Faculty of Law Unpad Prof. Dr. An An Chandrawulan, SH, LLM.

“Hopefully his example can be emulated by all of us and the future generations of Universitas Padjadjaran,” hoped Prof. Rina.

In addition, on this occasion there was also held a symbolic inauguration of the Palamarta Unpad Mall and the launch of the Unpad Smart Card. Palamarta Unpad Mall is an Unpad e-commerce platform which contains quality research and innovation products. In addition to being a place for selling Unpad innovation products, Palamarta Unpad Mall also sells Unpad-assisted MSME products, souvenirs, and so on.

Meanwhile, Unpad Smart Card is an Unpad employee identity card that can also function as a means of payment, and to give access to various Unpad facilities and parking.

In the commemoration of the 62nd Anniversary, an exhibition of Unpad innovation and entrepreneurship products was also held, entitled “Small Medium Enterprise Festival” which was held at the Unpad campus, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung, Wednesday (11/9). *
